Commentary

(Summary blog only.   Last full blog was Day 0368).

Today was a relatively quiet day with a bit less rushing about than has been the norm lately.

With Val still being away this morning, I used the time to catch up on yet more paperwork (where does it all come from in this supposedly electronic age) and then had a very enjoyable video catch-up with a friend in London.   Thank goodness for WhatsApp video!

I made myself a salad for lunch then went into town to buy a few “occasion” cards and postage stamps for friends around the world   Then once back in the flat I wrote suitable words and got them ready to send.   It was soon time to head off to the airport to collect her from her flight from Stansted (she arrived early!).   It was nice to have her back again and, for once, the sun was shining when we arrived in Malahide.

We spent a few moments enjoying a cup of tea in the sun on our balcony before gathering up my cards and taking a short stroll into town to post them.   By the time we got back, we had to get together our things and set out one final time for the day – to our Spanish (Adam) and Pilates (Val) classes at Portmarnock school.   Now we’re back, and about to have another of those half-price pop-pop curries that I got in Tesco yesterday.   Probably not the healthiest of dining options, but they are quick, tasty and hot so have quite a lot to commend them.
