Ireland day 0731. Friday 29 September 2023- Two Years in Ireland
Commentary
(Summary blog only. Last full blog was Day 0368).
It doesn’t seem possible that it was two years ago today that we rolled off the ferry at Dublin port and set off into the unknow. And what an adventure it’s been! From the first few weeks in our little cottage in Ardcath, to our flat overlooking the railway line in Malahide – and everything that has happened in between. Val has had two jobs here in ireland, I’ve led half a dozen walks for the Dublin Walking Club – as well as having a hip resurfaced, and we have seen our eldest son get married. Phew! There’s lots more still to do and learn, and we can’t wait to get stuck into Year 3.
Anyway – today was pretty low key, actually. Val was at work, and I actually didn’t have much formally planned in the diary. But we are off to the UK tomorrow for a few days, to deal with some matters related to a house sale, so I spent much of the day getting the paperwork and other bits and pieces ready for that. In fact, what took the longest was “pre-loading” this blogs with templates for the next days, which will make keeping it updated as I’m busy with other things, a lot easier.
Well, that’s about all there is to report on this quiet but momentous day. We’ve got a Zoom call with friends in the UK in a few minutes, and I need to make the dinner first.
Here’s to the next twelve months!
