Ireland day 0905. Thursday 21 March 2024- London Day 5

Today’s summary	In London for another day. Caught up with more friends at lunchtime then went for a short walk in the evening while Val was otherwise occupied.

Commentary

(Summary blog only. Last full blog was Day 0368).

Today was a bit of a re-run of yesterday.

After a relatively leisurely start to the day – though Val did go on a run while I pottered up to the Post Office – we took the tube up to Marylebone to met up with another group of former work colleagues. This time we were in one of my favourite restaurants – Caldesi – in the area, and it was another very enjoyable occasion. I can’t believe it’s three years since I last saw any of this group. I will have to try and make sure it’s not so long next time.

We had a walk across London after the lunch which was enjoyable though a bit blurry as a result of the rather nice bottles of wine we’d had over lunch. In the evening, Val had some business of her own to attend to, so I took a stroll up the Mall and through St James’s while she was busy. It was all looking very grand, and helped to stave off my rapidly developing hangover. Memo to self – don’t drink at lunchtime!!
