Ireland day 0850. Friday 26 January 2024- Finish and Tidy

Today’s summary	We were both at home today.   Val spent the day cleaning and tidying the flat in readiness for visitors arriving this evening, and I finished off the next drafts of the paper and presentation I have been preparing for my client.   Off to the airport later this evening to pick up our guests.

Commentary

(Summary blog only.   Last full blog was Day 0368).

Phew!

I’ve been working on a report and presentation for my client for the last couple of weeks and finally today finished off what I hope will be a near-final version of both.   I sent them off for internal approval after day working on them from the relative comfort of the flat, so I’m hoping that they will get the seal of approval.   I won’t find out till next week but for now I think I have taken it as far as I can.   I must admit it’s a strange feeling not having it hanging over me.   Now the next major hurdle is the Board presentation on 20 Feb but for now at least the pressure seems to significantly lower.   Perhaps I might take a few days off at some point and as Val has a lot more flexibility in her work pattern now, we might even go away somewhere.   Something to think about anyway.

But as I was busy typing away, Val was also busy being industrious.   We have some family guests coming to stay for the weekend and so the flat needed a good tidy and clean.  Despite me being inconveniently stuck at the computer in the middle of all her industry, she did a wonderful job and now it’s as clean as a new pin.   I wish we had done it sooner, but they do say that if you really want to get your house tidy, you should invite guests!

Well, that’s all for now.   I’m looking forward to a bit of down-time over the next couple of days and will report back tomorrow!
