Commentary

(Summary blog only.   Last full blog was Day 0368).

I’ve got another meeting with the CEO next Wednesday, which certainly helped me to prioritise my activities today.   That sadly meant that I had to abandon the idea of joining the walking club for a hike from Sandymount this afternoon.   That probably actually wasn’t such a bad thing as the weather has been absolutely atrocious – pouring rain and stormy winds – most of the day.

So I didn’t feel too bad to be sitting at my desk typing away, as the trees outside swirled round in an unfocused blur.   But after several hours, I had got a second draft ready, which I am happier with, and which I will be able to submit for my client to review on Monday.  Then I’ll turn to producing some slides for discussion in Wednesday’s CEO meeting.

Val had a day off and it was nice to be at home with her, for once.   She pottered around in the background catching up on some domestic tasks and keeping me sustained with brilliant supplies of sandwiches as I plugged away.   What a star.

Once I was finished and hungry threatened to evolve into hangry, we broke off from everything and headed out into the storm to find something to eat.   It was incredible just how mild it was outside.   The temperature was well into double figures and despite the wind. as the rain had stopped it actually felt quite pleasant.   We had settled on a Thai takeaway for dinner so dropped in to “Siam” (a shop not a country) collect a green curry before returning to the flat to enjoy our feast in front of the TV.

Quite a productive day, really, though I shall very much look forward to getting a bit more free time again.

A windy day today Malahide Presbyterian church, next to the Casino.   It’s supporting an artistic misty focus today because my camera lens needed cleaning
Only light damage in the storm’s wake this evening, as far as I could tell
