Our guests’ visit was short but sweet – a flying two day stay, but with a lot packed in.   After our Dublin adventures yesterday and on Sunday, we dialled the pace back today, for the last part of their trip.

We enjoyed a leisurely breakfast (a regular occurrence, it seems, as I have written those worlds many times since we came to Ireland), then Val escorted us all over the the Model Railway Museum so we could all have an expert guided trip.   As always, the trains were looking lovely so it was a very successful outing.

From there, we all looked round Malahide in our various different ways, then reconvened at the flat for coffee before our visitors set off for Rosslare.   Once they’d left, we did some household chores and then Val went up to the castle to discuss her forthcoming stint at “Wonderlights” (she starts on Thursday).   While she was away, I had a video call with my friend in Houston.   Very enjoyable, as always.   It’s going to be a busy few weeks for us both, I think.

In the evening, Val relaxed with “Wolf Hall” on Amazon, and I went off to Spanish. ¡Fue muy dificil, otra vez!

The Casino museum looking at its autumnal best Coming back from the shops I took a short detour to return via the estuary road.   Here passing under the Dublin-Belfast railway line
A bit further along the coast.   A beautiful day today Leaving college this evening.   So many people here that I had to use the overflow car park
Autumn colours are lovely at the moment – and possibly a week or two later that normal this year.   One hard frost and a stormy night, and all the leaves will be down
