(Summary blog only.   Last full blog was Day 0368).

Today was a bit of a re-run of yesterday, with a focus on clearing out the garage and the loft.   It’s quite cathartic getting rid of stuff that you had forgotten you even had and in any case no longer need.   But it’s hard, painstaking work, and quite tiring.   Anyway, we did make progress, fortified by regular cups of tea and glasses of apple juice.

One of our friends came around this morning and took quite a lot of our stuff away – mainly for her children and grandchildren to use.   It lightened the day a lot, and will make the final clearance that much easier.   It’s great to know that the items will be going to a good home.

We worked solidly for about 12 hours, so by 8pm we were ready to call it a day.   A microwave curry was an easy and tasty end to the day, and we rounded it off with a couple of glasses of some elderflower gin that we discovered lurking at the back of a cupboard.   It was quite nice actually.

Typical scene in the garage this afternoon We are successfully managing to drain all the half-drunk bottles of weird liqueurs that we have accumulated over the years.   Makes a most peculiar cocktail

From an old cycling atlas I found in the loft.   The main routes are just the same as they were about 100 years ago!
