Commentary

(Summary blog only.   Last full blog was Day 0368).

Once packed lunches were made and Val was despatched off to work, my first job was to drive our young cyclist visitor back to the airport, where he was catching the X4 bus up to Derry.   He’s undertaking an amazing challenge (see yesterday for details) and we wish him luck.

Once back in the flat, once again I dealt with some tax matters, did another write-up of yesterday’s hydrogen seminar, then spent an enjoyable hour on a video call with my friend in Houston.   I also briefly experimented with a new app – Babbel – which I am hoping will turbocharge my Spanish learning progress.

Val briefly returned from work at that point, and we just had time for a cup of tea before she headed out again on her bike to her Pilates class at the Rugby  Club.   Around all these comings and goings, I managed to fit in a walk along the estuary shore, as well as a loop walk round the demesne.   I also concocted jacket potatoes with sweetcorn and tuna for dinner.

So all in all a pretty busy and varied day, again.

The beautiful yellow roses in the casino grounds.   They are impressive grown en masse like this Parkland down by the Broadmeadow estuary
Evening light in the demesne Camassia (with bee) and allium in my favourite flowerbed
Solanum crispum ‘Glasnevin’ (aka Chilean Potato Vine) growing oin someone’s front garden down the Inbhir Ide road
