Commentary

(Summary blog only.   Last full blog was Day 0368).

When you’re not working, you forget just how good Fridays feel.   Well now, after just a few days back in an office environment, I can tell you I am remembering exactly how good they are.   A massive sense of relief and achievement for having survived the first week!

Anyway, I went along to the office in mid morning and had a series of lunchtime meetings before heading back.   I stopped off for some groceries in Swords on the way home but even though I was relatively early, I still missed seeing Val before she scooted off to Wonderlights.

Val had, however, left me a delicious pasta meal – made, by the way, with some more Lough Avalla beef – we bought another freezer-full a few weeks ago and it’s excellent.   Once I’d finished that off and done the tidying up, I felt in need of some fresh air and was just about to set off out for a walk when it started to pour down.   But rather than giving up, I put on top-to-toe waterproofs and went out anyway.

I managed to stay reasonably dry for my stroll up the hill, though I did hope that Val had plenty of warm waterproof gear for her shift up at the castle tonight.   She’s only just got over a cold and a night shivering in freezing rain isn’t going to exactly expedite her recovery.

And on that note, I’m going to stop now and put the central heating on.   Before Val comes back, there are a few business related webinars on YouTube that I want to watch and I don’t want to bore hear to death!

Malahide Station, getting ready to disturb us all next week! I quite like this estate, with its views out to see – as I have noted many times before
A classic November view
Not a classic November view unless you live in the Canary islands.   (NB the geranium is real and is in full bloom like this 365 days a year.   An impressive piece of horticulture near the top of Church Road)
