Commentary

(Summary blog only.   Last full blog was Day 0368).

I have to admit it: being fun has never quite made it to the top ten of the things I enjoy about work.   So, right now in the middle of a relatively difficult project, it feels like quite hard going, and I don’t seem to have much time spare to do other things.   When you stop working, you quickly forget how much of a tie going into the office can be.

Anyway, I do feel it’s a privilege to have secured this project, and it only lasts a few more weeks, so I’m not going to complain.   But the ties of work help to explain why most of my days have the common threads of work, dinner, walk and TV and aren’t quite as interesting as they usually are.

So today I permed the common threads and spent the best part of the day in the office digesting the feedback from yesterday’s workshop, and considering what to do next.  Actually it’s pretty clear what I have to do next as I have been asked to do a presentation to the CEO next Monday and I need to prioritise that or risk major embarrassment.   And with Val being in London at the moment, working fills the day quite well.

Once I got home this evening, I enjoyed some more of Kerrigans’ fine fare and then went for a short walk up Seamount and over the “new” hill to Seapark, then back along the coast.   The final piece in the day’s jigsaw is a bit of TV so I’ll go and get the valves warmed up now.

More of the same tomorrow!

One of the other side effects of working is that you have to have a clean shirt every day.   Which means lots of washing Viburnum in bloom on St Margaret’s Avenue.   I like seeking out winter flowering plants – makes it feel like Spring isn’t so far away
Checking out the progress with the new houses in the estate off Seamount.   Imperceptible change since I last looked, I’d say.   Still, Rome wasn’t built in a day Approaching the top of the “New” hill between Seamount and Seapark.   Looks like broad daylight but actually it was nearly pitch dark.   Another  fine example of the wonders of image-stacking
Where the path from Seapark meets the coast road Townyard Lane abuzz with restaurants and bright lights tonight
