Ireland day 0611. Thursday 01 June 2023- Gym Tax Demesne
Today’s summary Val was at work so in the morning I practiced Spanish and went to the gym, then in the afternoon I spent more time on tax.   Wild salmon for tea and a walk round the demesne in the evening
Today’s weather Light cloud in the morning, but bright dry and sunny for most of the rest of the day.   Cool north easterly wind.   Appx 16C

Once again, Val had an early start at work, so I got up, made packed lunches and did some Spanish.   I am beginning to get the hang of Object Pronouns, though am still struggling slightly to know when to use lo and la, los and las, versus using le and les.   I think the former is him/it, her or them, the latter is to or for him/it, to or for her, to or for them.  Really, though, the only way is just to practice endlessly till it becomes second nature.

Once I’d battled through that, I decided to take a break and go to the gym for a couple of hours.   I followed the usual routine, and finished off with a swim.   All very enjoyable.   But the afternoon was a bit less enjoyable, as I spent almost all of it dealing with our tax.   I’m sure that it must be possible to get it finished at some point, but there is no end in sight at the moment, I’m afraid.

By the time I had finally made as much progress as I reasonably could, Val was back from work and we were both gasping for a cup of tea.   Once suitably refreshed, Val had a video call with a friend in the UK and then we enjoyed the wild salmon I bought yesterday.   We had it baked and served with broccoli, tomatoes and potatoes.   A culinary delight!   Then finally, at last, we managed to get out for a few minutes to enjoy the evening sun.   Just enough time for a quick trot round the demesne, but very enjoyable nevertheless.

My semi-defunct Apple Watch is getting the rice desiccation technique.   But to no avail as yet.  Its as dead as a doornail Nouvelle cuisine courtesy of Val!   With the wild salmon I bought yesterday.   €6.75 worth of fish on each plate.   It tasted superb
Val demonstrating her sneaky shortcut over the fence into the Museum grounds from the Casino The superb bulb bed over by the demesne entrance had yet another ace up its sleeve – white camassias popping up, ready to replace the Alliums which are currently dominating the floral display
One of my favourite trees – an ancient oak in the demesne June rose!   Right here in the Casino grounds
But this really is My Favourite Tree
