Ireland day 0826. Tuesday 02 January 2024- Working Day
Commentary
(Summary blog only. Last full blog was Day 0368).
There’s not a lot to report from today, to be honest. Val went off to work at the Casino first thing, and I set off shortly afterwards to drive round to the office. She was working up at the castle again in the evening but I wasn’t back from my work at the time she flew through the flat on the way from Job 1 to job 2. Luckily thanks to Mr Tesco we had a couple of ready meals in the fridge so it was just a question of pop-popping one into the microwave and she had an instant hot dinner (albeit probably ultraprocessed). But it’s her last night at Wonderlights for this season (much to her relief I think – it’s been a long slog). They are off to the pub later on for a “quick” celebratory drink so I’ll expect her back sometime after midnight(!)
My own day was quite productive in the office though sadly it didn’t involve going to the pub afterwards. Once I was home again, I had my own pop-pop meal and then spent a few idle moments planning a possible holiday for later this year. Looking out of the window on a dark damp cold evening (with the rainfall radar always seeming to show more wet weather to come) the idea of somewhere warm and sunny does seem rather appealing I have to admit.
I’m going to clock off now, and head out to get some fresh air. I feel like I very much need it, after a day cooped up behind the computer. Over and out till tomorrow!
