Today’s summary Listened to a podcast over a cup of tea first thing, then we went to Tesco Clare Hall to do a big shop in advance of visitors arriving tomorrow.   Went to the gym in the afternoon afterwards and Val went for a run.   Spent the rest of the day doing the washing, hoovering and tidying up
Today’s weather Overnight rain then mostly mild, dry and with plenty of sun.   Moderate westerly wind.   Appx 12c

(Summary blog only.   Last full blog was Day 0368).

After the pressure of the last few weeks, it was a delight today to be able to lie in bed this morning with a cup of tea and listen to a podcast with nothing in the diary to sully the horizons ahead.   We didn’t eventually get up until 10am, but as we have visitors coming tomorrow, we soon had to knuckle down to preparations.  We had a late brunch then our first port of call was the Clare Hall Tesco, to stock up on all the essentials we’re going to need to keep us all going over the next 4 or 5 days.

Once we were back, I made my way over to the gym for a decent workout, to start getting myself back into some semblance of shape.   Val went on a run round the Yellow Walls Road area while I was in the gym.   Comparing notes afterwards, we both concluded it had been a bit of a “syrupy” day – hard work, like wading through glue.   Anyway, we’re both determined to keep at it, and hopefully it will do us some good.   Just time for a light dinner from Val’s “How to cheat at cooking” book, then some Sopranos to round off the evening.

That’s all for today.   It’s been wonderful having so little to write about!   Long may it last.

Malahide has it, according to the sign.   Not sure what it is though
