Commentary

(Summary blog only.   Last full blog was Day 0368).

I don’t particularly enjoy days spent typing into a computer – but I have to keep reminding myself that it’s entirely self created – I didn’t have to do this!   Still, to paraphrase JFK: “We don’t do these things because they are easy, we do them because they are hard”.

With that thought in mind, I pressed on, got the work done, and sent it off.   At that point I allowed myself a break to do some shopping and get lunch (a chicken ready meal – half price – courtesy of Tesco).   Then when I’d tidied up and done some more washing (it’s endless!) I decided to go out and get some fresh air.   I thought a walk through the castle demesne and up Robswall would be in order – and indeed it was.   The air was cool and clear, and the autumn colours were putting on a good display.

I thoroughly enjoyed my excursion, and it was made even better when I discovered that trusty Tesco was selling off Angel Slices (one of my favourites) at 1/3 of the normal price.  What a result!

Now, I need to head off to the airport.   Val is returning from her trip to London this evening and I mustn’t be late.   Really looking forward to seeing her again!

Today’s photos (click to enlarge)

The engineers’ tent at Malahide station is being taken away.   Further evidence that (hopefully) the engineering works are nearing completion? Autumn colours in full swing in the Casino grounds
The Avoca courtyard at the castle looking a bit gothic Festoon lights in readiness for the Wonderlights show, which starts next week (and Val is working there again)
The top of the Robswall estate with Lambay Island on the horizon.   It’s quite a smart looking development, actually Evening over the estuary
Tree already looking very wintry and fully prepared for the storms – up in the castle demesne
