Ireland day 0778. Wednesday 15 November 2023- WFH
Today’s summary Didn’t have any meetings in the office today so decided to work from home instead.   Not as successful as I would have liked as I got bogged down in IT and other admin issues.   Val home early from work so went on a short walk round the marina in the evening
Today’s weather Dry sunny and bright but feeling cool.   Moderate westerly wind.   Appx 10c

Commentary

(Summary blog only.   Last full blog was Day 0368).

After the excitement of returning to the office yesterday, today was a bit of an anticlimax.   I hadn’t been able to schedule any office-based meetings so elected to work from home (WFH in the vernacular) and do the one meeting I did have, by video call instead.

But the day was a bit less productive than I had hoped.   I had to deal with a load of house-related admin and then I made the mistake of trying to set up a new Microsoft Teams account.   I hoped this might make connecting with work colleagues easier, but I ran into all sorts of technical difficulties.   An hour spent on the phone with someone from Microsoft just seemed to make matters worse.   In the end I gave up hope and got them to cancel the new account that I had just set up, and refund me the money.   Sigh.

Anyway I did have a useful video meeting and will be heading back into the office tomorrow.   The thing about WFH and also being a consultant is that you can work whatever hours suit you (within reason) so long as you deliver the outcome.   So once I have finished this, I ned to spend some time this evening doing some pre reading for tomorrow.

Val was out at work today but had a shorter day than usual so once she got back, we had a quick walk round the marina, stopping in at Supervalu on the way back to do some shopping.   It was nice to get some fresh air after a day spent behind a desk.   Must go now, though, and get on with the reading!
