Commentary

(Summary blog only.   Last full blog was Day 0368).

Val was doing her final double-shift for a while today, and I elected to work from home while she was out.   I managed to do a decent half day, and felt like I made quite a lot of progress, which I was pleased about.

She dashed back for a quick cup of tea at lunchtime, and then passed through briefly again in the evening between the Museum and the Castle.   We just had time to enjoy a quick paella (courtesy of Tesco – not my own work I’m sorry to admit) before she dashed off out again.

While she was away, I did my packing for the short trip we’re going on tomorrow, and wrapped up some super – secret Christmas presents(!).   Once all that was done, I headed out round the block to do my favourite Hanlon’s Lane loop walk – it felt good to be out and about albeit only briefly, and to be able to enjoy the night air.

Val’s due back any minute now, so I’ll stop and get the TV tuned in ready for the next episode of the Sopranos.   We’re really enjoying it!

Today’s photos (click to enlarge)

Bright and cheerful winter-season window-boxes on the railings above the station The Casino with its seasonal illumination
False Jasmine, Solanum Jasminoides, still in full, if blurry, bloom in Hanlon’s Lane.   We’ve had hardly any frost so far this winter and if it continues like this, it will probably carry on flowering all year Lonesome swan gliding through the chilly waters of the lagoon
We were sent a bouquet of flowers for Christmas by some friends in the UK.   They’re beautiful, and really brighten up the flat.  Thanks M&M!
