Ireland day 0575. Wednesday 26 April 2023- Gym and Airport

Today’s summary Val was at work for most of the day then I took her to the airport late afternoon to catch a flight to the UK, where she’s spending a few days with a friend.   I went on a couple of shorter walks during the day, under the watchful eye of a fox in the Casino grounds
Today’s weather Dry and bright with long sunny periods.   Light south easterly wind.   Appx 9C

(Summary blog only.   Last full blog was Day 0368).

Val was at work so once she was safely desptached, I did a bit of Spanish, got my things together and spent a couple of hours at the gym and in the pool.

Afterwards, I collected some local shopping at Tesco and returned to the flat for lunch – after being scrutinised carefully by a watchful – and nonchalant – fox gazing at me from the grounds of the Casino museum.  Much of the afternoon I spent trying to get on with my paper on the Ice Ages but am making no headway.   So I gave up and made a loaf of bread instead.   A new approach is needed tomorrow, I think.

Val had a short day at the museum today so was home just after 4pm.   But it was only a flying visit as she needed to be delivered to the airport fairly soon afterwards for a flight to the UK where she’s meeting up with a friend for a couple of days.

When I got back to the flat after dropping her off, I had a late dinner (basically left-overs from yesterday) and went on a short walk round Hanlon’s lane.   It was a dry evening (and still light at 9:30pm) but feeling quite chilly.   Now that this blog is finished, it’s time to settle down with a bit of Netflix, I think.

“My” gym, the Arena, at the Grand Hotel Malahide estuary looking sunny and warm this lunchtime.   Well, certainly sunny
This beached boat which looks a bit like a fishing vessel of some sort, appeared outside the marina a few days ago.   No idea what its doing there Here’s my bread.   A “real” loaf – i.e. not from a packet!
The marina this evening
Rock rose growing in the flower beds outside the Marina village.   It looks like it’s illuminated by spring sunshine, but actually it’s a long hand-held exposure taken under a streetlight
