Ireland day 0174. Monday 21 March 2022- Covid3
Commentary
The day started with another disappointment on the Lateral Flow front. Yet again the T line remained stubbornly pink with not the slightest hint that it might be fading. Then one of my friends told me that they had tested positive for 14 days – and had I heard about the man from Wales who was positive for seven months? Well, I hadn’t but now I have and it makes me reflect on how well Val did to beat it in just four days. Even our son – who is 30 years younger then me – is still testing positive after six day. Still – in Val’s case I reckon that’s just the stronger the female constitution for you! I just need to grit my teeth and get my head around the idea that I might be incarcerated for some time. At least it will give me chance to catch up on some reading.
For the past two days I will have to confess I haven’t got out of bed other than to use the bathroom or to make cups of tea. But as a result I haven’t been sleeping very well, so I decided to stir myself a bit and get showered and dressed and – the highlight of the week so far – move into the living room for a while. Emboldened by this radical move I decided to go one step further and sit on the balcony, to enjoy the sunshine. After an hour of this vigorous activity, I was worn out again and as of a couple of hours ago, I’ve been back in bed.
Without descending into self-indulgent wallowing, there isn’t really much you can write about a day when you did pretty much nothing at all. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for a fading of the T line tomorrow, but am getting my head around the idea that it might be a long wait! Come back tomorrow and see how the pink line is shaping up.
