Ireland day 0504. Tuesday 14 February 2023- Insurance
Commentary
(Summary blog only. Last full blog was Day 0368).
Val had the last of her five day stint at work today so once she was off to the museum, I sat down to another enjoyable video catch up with a friend back in the UK – which lasted most of the morning in fact.
Once we had finished speaking, I packed up my things and headed off to the gym to add a few more km to my total (pausing of course to wave to Toots as he thundered down the Malahide road on his way to the castle). On return, I had lunch and decided to try out some of the bread I made yesterday. It turned out much better this time – a lot less dry and altogether much more edible. Probably the best batch to date, in fact.
After lunch, I set about trying to renew the car insurance. I hit endless barriers last week when I tried to do it, so many in fact that in the end I gave up in frustration. But I was determined to power through today and I did indeed succeed, with only two or three problems along the way. (One quote that I got sounded, at €65, too good to be true and indeed it was – they had forgotten actually to add the insurance premium to the quote, so all I would have been paying was the admin charge – sadly the offer was withdrawn).
So now the car is renewed for another year and all I have to sort out now is the tax, NCT and service. But I can’t really do much about any of those until March. Now just a few minute to slot in some Spanish practice before tonight’s class down at the college.
