(Summary blog only. Last full blog was Day 0368).
A flying visit (literally) back to the UK to deal with some family business.
A horrendously early start (ugh) needed to catch the 0730 flight from Dublin to Gatwick. Back on the 21:35 so it’s a long day. Most of the travel – except for the UK trains – seemed to go straightforwardly. The critical train I needed to catch was so badly delayed that in the end I had to take a taxi for the last part of the journey – at great expense.

On time… |
Long cold wait on the tarmac while the aircraft recovered from being de-iced |

Bird’s Eye view of Lambay (top) and Ireland’s Eye (bottom) islands off the east coast near Malahide. A few minutes after take-off from Dublin this morning. |
My journey from the airport and back again involved innumerable rain journeys and I seemed to spend much of the day hanging around waiting for trains. The critical one of which was delayed so badly that I ended up having to take a taxi |

It’s usually pretty chaotic at the T1 drop off area, but given that it was before 6am when I arrived (thanks Val for the getting up early and giving me a lift!), not too bad this morning. Thankfully, the airport haven’t started charging for drop-offs) |
