The main event of the day – and our reason for coming over to the UK in the first place – was a family celebration out in Bucks.   People came from far and wide and the day worked out perfectly.   No hassles with the long car journeys and perfect weather to sit outside.   No wind, pleasantly warm, but the cloud kept the scorching sun at bay.   Only irritants were the abundant wasps!

Spent five hours catching up on the news, drinking too much, and enjoying a buffet lunch.   An ideal way to celebrate!

After the washing up was done, completed the day with an evening walk round the suburbs.  Lots of interest to see en route – including numerous red kites and a small deer in someone’s front garden.

A perfect day

I love these Giant Redwoods Exploring the alleys
Tunnel under the Met line.   A fascinating Borrow Pit nearby too In the arboreal planetarium.   Completely visible to the outside world, but conceals an entire cricket pitch
Ideal ingredients for a summer outdoor party!
