Commentary

A pleasant morning in London.   Everywhere seemed to be busy and thriving, with building sites everywhere.   But the streets need a good wash after weeks without rain.   There’s a possibility some might fall on Sunday.

Afternoon out in Buckinghamshire.   All those public footpaths and accessible countryside!  Britain isn’t perfect, especially at the moment, but this is one of the things I have come to realise it does really well.

Tinder-dry everywhere.   A landscape of brown, with not a green field or lawn to be seen.

Most of the rest of the day spent getting ready for a family event on Saturday.

Today’s photos (click to enlarge)

Regent Street In Marylebone, near Grotto Passage.   What a wonderful name!
Montague Mansions looking well cared for today Marylebone Station – so much like Connolly, especially inside.   Even the platform numbers are the same!
Britain in Bloom?   Must need a lot of watering at the moment. Exhausting trip to Tesco merited refreshment
England not looking so green and pleasant at the moment, after prolonged heat and drought (which Ireland seems largely to have escaped so far).
