(Summary blog only.   Last full blog was Day 0368).

A lovely day mostly enjoying the fire in our cosy Doolin hideaway, where we are snatching a 2-day mini break.

It poured with rain all day so we used the opportunity to sit by the fire, wind down a bit, and read.   Very relaxing.   Just a quick trip up to Lisdoonvarna at lunchtime to do some shopping and stock up on fuel for the fire.

Then at about 4pm the rain suddenly stopped and the sun even came out  briefly.   So we hastily threw on our boots and wet weather gear and headed out on the first section of the Doolin to Cliffs of Moher path.   Didn’t get very far before it started to get dark, but an absolutely exhilarating walk nevertheless.  Boiling seas, raging streams and spectacular waterfalls pouring into the Atlantic below made it memorable.

A few more moments by the fire then a quick scoot back to the hotel for some more seafood.   Wonderful.

Astonishing seascapes.   Churning waves and cascading waterfalls mixing with the spray – and sometimes flowing back uphill in the wind Just about holding it together at the far point of our walk
A brief glimpse of watery sun over the fields at the back of our cottage, after a day of continuous rain
