Ireland day 0442. Wednesday 14 December 2022- Catching Up
Today’s summary Val had a double shift of work today.   I went to the gym in the morning and had lunch with a CCS colleague in Malahide.   Spent the afternoon and evening working on Christmas cards and other admin.   Made poached salmon for dinner for Val between museum and castle.
Today’s weather Dry, breezy and bright with some sun.   Light northerly wind.   About 4C but again below freezing by nightfall

(Summary blog only.   Last full blog was Day 0368).

Strangely enough we both woke up with a bit of a hangover this morning.  Yesterday’s celebrations were taking their toll I think, so they must have been good.

Val was working at the museum during the day and then at the castle again this evening.  So as soon as she left for the museum, I went for an early session at the gym then quickly got changed and headed back into Malahide to meet up for lunch with a colleague from a CCS project that I am involved in.  It was good to have a professional chat about the relative merits of different pathways to decarbonisation in Ireland.

I spent the rest of the afternoon doing the week’s shopping then made a quick dinner of poached salmon for Val to fit in between the museum and the castle.   While she was out again for the evening shift, I finished off the remaining Christmas cards, which took a surprisingly long time.   Then some more admin and finally got everything sorted out by about 10pm just as Val got back.

A busy but rewarding day for both of us.

A few violas in the windowboxes by the station railings brought a splash of colour to the pathside today St Sylvester’s looking very festive
The last (probably!) of the Christmas cards are on their way.   Hopefully they will get to their destinations on time, but post between Ireland and the UK has been at best very erratic recently.
