(Summary blog only.   Last full blog was Day 0368).

Val had a full day off both the museum and the castle, but we spent most of it in the flat finishing off Christmas cards, cooking (roast beef from the Lough Avalla farm that we collected from Howth a couple of weeks ago) and getting the washing machine fixed.

The tumble dryer failed a few weeks ago but we have only just got round to having it repaired.  Fortunately, as our property is let furnished, the repair doesn’t cost us anything apart from having to stay in all day to deal with the engineers.  As it happens, an earlier visit by a technician had concluded that it was probably a fault with a “software module” so the simplest solution was just to replace the whole thing.  So now we have a brand-new machine and I’m just hoping it works properly.

Mind you with the price of electricity lately we have been drying things on a rack on the balcony and we will probably continue to do that most of the time except when we need dry stuff in a hurry.

A very relaxing day, and very enjoyable not to be rushing around anywhere
