Commentary
(Summary blog only. Last full blog was Day 0368).
Continuing the recovery today, aided enormously by Val’s fabulous nursing and food preparation.
It snowed almost all day today but nevertheless I managed to complete my longest walk since my operation a week ago. OK it was only as far as the shops but it felt like a major achievement.
The X-rays below show what my Birmingham Hip Resurfacing implants actually look like. I’m exceptionally fortunate to live at a time when these things are possible. A century ago, I’d have been contemplating spending the rest of my life immobile and in pain. I hope medical progress can continue at the same pace in the future, so that in a hundred years time the chronic ailments which plague us today can have been banished to the bin of history.
Just putting my feet up now after the day’s exertions, then time to get on with some Spanish practice!
