Commentary

(Summary blog only.   Last full blog was Day 0368).

Had a relaxing morning sorting out some low key admin activities.

Then Val and I walked down to the town to get lunch at one of the local cafés.  Very enjoyable, followed by a walk back up the hill and some shopping.  Feeling much colder and more wintry than Ireland.

The heliotropes seem to be at least a month behind those on the Broadmeadow estuary

Today’s photos (click to enlarge)

Snowdrops (and a few crocuses) out in the woods I’ve never seen quite such abundant hazel catkins.   If you look closely I think you can just make out the tiny red female flowers, around the point where the (male) catkin joins the stem
Damson blossom down by the river Someone had planted a bed of violas outside their house – looked brightly springlike on a grey wintry day
Must admit I’d never noticed this before Telephoto shot looking over the town
We didn’t hang around too long taking this photo!
