(Summary blog only.   Last full blog was Day 0368).

Val was at the work in the afternoon so we spent the first part of the day having a leisurely morning and listening to a couple of podcasts.

After lunch, I settled down to tackle some paperwork – first up was Spanish homework which, this week, was quite hard.   Then, having rashly agreed to organise a Walking Club trip later this summer, I started making some of the arrangements.   It’s incredible how much time even simple things like these can take up!   By way of light relief, I went on a short walk around the demesne, and enjoyed the brief glimpse of spring that it afforded.

Once Val was home, we took a spontaneous decision to go out for dinner to our old favourite – Kathmandu Kitchen – to enjoy the luxury of having someone else prepare our dinner for us.   Anyway it felt justified as today is a brand new bank holiday in Ireland, to celebrate Imbolc (see blog a few days ago) or St Brigid’s Day – the first day of the Irish Spring.  All in all a busy day but ultimately rewarding and enjoyable.

The cricket pitch.   There is a plan to relocate the International matches away from Malahide, where temporary seating needs to be erected and dismantled at great expense every year, to a permanent ground at the Sport Ireland campus in Blanchardstown.   Could happen as soon as 2026
