Ireland day 0408. Thursday 10 November 2022- Night walk
Today’s summary Val was working at Wonderlights in the evening but had most of the rest of the day off.   I waited for an engineer to come and look at our faulty tumble dryer (needs a new “module”) then in the evening I walked round the demesne and did some Spanish homework while Val was at work
Today’s weather Mainly dry with occasional light drizzle.   Strong south westerly wind.   Feeling mild at 16C.

Commentary

(Summary blog only.   Last full blog was Day 0368).

Val had a morning off before Wonderlights in the evening.

Had a leisurely breakfast and lunch then I waited in for the engineer to come and fix the tumble dryer.   Turns out it needs a new “module” so it could be a slow process.

In the evening I intended to walk through the demesne to the Swords road then out to Seabury and back along the coast path.   But the back gate into the castle was locked – it apparently closes around 6pm – so I was trapped inside.   So I followed the perimeter path and back out the way I came in – via the Sylvesters GAA car park.   So – lesson learned but it was an enjoyable stroll anyway.

Managed to fit in some of my Spanish homework as well.   But still the difficult listening exercise left to tackle.

Today’s photos (click to enlarge)

The errant washing machine.   Actually the washer part is fine – it’s the integrated tumble dryer which has given up the ghost (we weren’t using it much anyway, to be honest as it’s so expensive).   Lately we have been drying clothes on a rack on the balcony – it’s out of sight from the ground so hopefully we aren’t breaking any byelaws The entry / exit route into the castle demesne – via the GAA car park at Bridgefield on the Dublin Road
Down in the forest – the golden beams aren’t from the setting sun, but rather from a nearby streetlight Delicate tracery against the night sky.   But just look at the light pollution!
My favourite sequoia – with light show from nearby Wonderlights straying into the field of view
