Ireland day 0380. Thursday 13 October 2022- Galway CCS

Today’s summary	Val returning from the UK but flight delayed till 1am tomorrow morning. Drove over to Galway to a CCUS symposium then went to Decathlon on the way back. Sleeping on the floor of our landing at the moment as the bridge repair work is so noisy it makes sleeping in our bedroom impossible
Today’s weather	Dry and mostly quite bright. A light shower around lunchtime in Galway. Light westerly wind. Only 3C when I set off at 5:45 am this morning but reached about 14C mid afternoon.

Commentary

Val still in UK.

I drove over to Galway for the day to attend a CCUS symposium at the university.

Excellent to catch up with what’s going on and lots of good discussions. Stopped off at Decathlon and Ikea in Ballymun on the way back.

Val’s return flight from the UK delayed so won’t be back in Ireland until at least 1am tomorrow morning and so she is suffering a tedious wait at Stansted airport.

Iarnród Éireann spent all last night drilling the bridge which meant I only got an hour’s sleep. Not ideal preparation for a 500km round trip drive. This evening they are hammering on the metalwork so it seems unlikely that sleep will be on the agenda tonight either.

Once I’ve collected Val from the airport, we’re going to try sleeping in the hallway of our flat where it might be a bit quieter. The Karrimats I bought at Decathlon may make it feel a bit more comfortable.
