Ireland day 0376. Sunday 09 October 2022- Shackleton DWC

Today’s summary	Val at work. Led 14 DWC walkers along the Ashtown to Shackleton Garden path by the Royal Canal towpath that Val and I recced on Thursday. Went well, and the Clonsilla Farmers market just outside the garden was actually open. It even had a new pop-up cafe in it which only opened yesterday. Quite wet for the second half of the walk but the new greenhouse in the garden provided a welcome refuge and the head gardener even popped in to give an impromptu lecture on the local history. A quick wander round the after lunch garden – and the gardener invited us to help ourselves to some apples from the orchard. Returned by train from Clonsilla and everyone seemed happy with the day’s proceedings.
Today’s weather	Overcast and dry until about noon then intermittent rain for most of the rest of the day. Moderate north westerly wind. About 14C

Beech Park Eco Farm, Farm Shop. At Clonsilla, and just outside the Shackleton gardens. Shame it’s only open 4 hours a day, and only at weekends.
