Ireland day 0836. Friday 12 January 2024- TGIF! *
Commentary
(Summary blog only. Last full blog was Day 0368).
When you aren’t working, there is a tendency for the days to merge seamlessly into one and sometimes you don’t really notice when the weekends have come and gone. All that changes when you are at work though, and you begin to recognise the punctuations between one bout of work and the next for the precious commodities that they really are.
So it was with some relief that I finally left the office this afternoon and headed back to Malahide. Val had also been at work – though had mixed things up a bit with a meeting in Dublin in the morning before returning to the museum to put in an afternoon stint. But sadly she’s back at work tomorrow and Sunday before she finally gets her freedom next week.
Any we celebrated what was at least a partial escape into the weekend with a bottle of beer and an extremely tasty chicken stir-fry with a leafy green salad to go with it. I could almost feel the goodness coursing through my veins. We finished off the day with a Netflix documentary on Sergei Polunin, a ballet dancer. Exhausting to watch!
