Commentary

It’s over two years now since I had my second hip resurfaced (and eight years since my first). So now, armed with the results of my blood test a couple of weeks ago, I have to return to the UK for a check-up with the surgeon who originally did the operation. The consultation is tomorrow, at a hospital in Southampton. I’m hoping it should be straightforward but you never know.

So after an early morning cup of tea, Val drive me round to the airport for my 11:15 Ryanair flight. The departure was delayed half an hour or so, but that wasn’t a problem as I had plenty to keep me busy while I waited. After a straightforward flight to Gatwick, I caught a convenient Thameslink train into central London where I spent the afternoon visiting the Apple store in Covent Garden, daydreaming about how I could spend lots of money.

Later, I met up with family and we spent the evening on a quick dinner then relaxing and generally putting the world to rights.

Now let’s see what delights tomorrow beings. Fingers crossed!!

The Land Registry in Portugal Street (though I don’t know if it is actually still there or note) Ye Olde Curiosity Shop – as brought to fame by Dickens.   Nowadays surrounded by the high-rise buildings of the London School of Economics
Nice view of Holyhead Island – part of the larger Anglesey island (you can just see the Menai Straits at the top of the picture)
