Commentary
It’s been a pretty busy day today, combining lots of different but relatively complicated activities.
First off, as soon was we were up and about, we had to knuckle down and sort out some family admin. Perfectly manageable, just took time. Then, once that was well underway, I had to break off to drive round to a business meeting to discuss CCUS (Carbon Capture, Usage and Storage – a subject I used to work on a number of years ago). Then, once that had finished and I was back in the flat, it was nearly 2pm and time for a late snacky lunch.
The first part of the remaining afternoon was spent sorting out more admin while Val went up to the Demesne to to work through her exercise routine. Impressive stuff. Then, afterwards, Val and I managed to sneak out for a quick walk to the Centra shop and back – very enjoyable but left me slightly rueing the fact that I’d spent most of the day indoors when today was probably the warmest day of the year so far.
We start on our travels tomorrow so once we were back, I did a final bit of packing and checking – I wanted to make sure that I had packed all the essentials like phone, charger, credit cards and passport. If you’ve got those things, usually you can deal with most eventualities that might arise.
Finally everything was (almost) finished, so we took the path of least resistance and had a Tesco pop-pop meal for dinner while we watched some more “Mad Men”. Just to round off the evening, I did a bit more admin then called it a day and went to bed.
Now I’m dreaming of tomorrow!
