Commentary

Today was a bit of an unusual day. I woke up with a headache and feeling really tired -sensations that only got worse as the day went on. I’m not sure what is wrong with me – at one point I thought I might actually have covid (I didn’t). Anyway, Val and I enjoyed a cup of tea in bed (only one these days – our new post-holiday resolution!) and were up by 8am.

We pottered about in the morning – I wasn’t feeling hungry so I skipped breakfast and lunch, while Val had some cereal and a sandwich. We took a short stroll round the Hanlons Lane circuit and called in at Tesco to get some essentials en route.

Then it was time to take Val to the airport – she’s heading over to London for a few days to see some of the family and also to deal with a few admin matters.

I was back in the flat by early afternoon and spent the rest of the day relaxing on the sofa, treating myself with Lucozade and paracetamol. In the evening, I had a banana for dinner (it was all I felt like) then had a quick video call with Val. I rounded off the day with a travel video about Portugal and read a bit more of my book before getting another early night.

Hopefully I’ll feel a bit more human tomorrow!

Been reading this over the last few days – to someone like me who suffers from chronic wanderlust, it makes a good read!
