Ireland day 1183. Tuesday 24 December 2024- Xmas Mayo 4
Today’s summary Drove back from Malahide to Louisburgh after collecting Rob from Dublin airport last night. Came back via the M5/M17 which was much easier than the M4 route. Went to Stauntons for a couple of Guinnesses in the evening after a short walk to the harbour.
Today’s weather Drizzly much of the day but brighter in the west in the evening. Moderate to strong south westerly wind. Appx 11c

Commentary

After successfully collecting Rob from the airport then a good evening at the Greedy Goose for dinner, we actually slept quite late this morning. Val and Rob (amazingly) went for a 5k run round the Demesne first thing, while I struggled out of bed.

Once we had reconvened and had breakfast, we re-packed our stuff and set off back in the Trusty Yaris, heading west. This time, we took the route via the M5 and M17, which was a bit longer but a much easier drive than the M4 route we followed for the eastward journey yesterday.

Went made it back to An Teach Ban by 3:45 and after getting the fire lit and catching up on the news, we retired to Stauntons for a couple of pints. But not before I’d strolled down to Lecanvey pier (in the pitch dark) to check out the little harbour.

Back at the cottage now, it’s time for curry and perhaps to get the wine mulling. Hic!
