Ireland day 0521. Friday 03 March 2023- UKHip03
Today’s summary Steady recovery in hospital.   A couple of friends visited me and I got off the Zimmer frame and onto crutches.   Val made me some jellies for when I leave hospital!
Today’s weather Once again I didn’t step outside but those who had been out told me it was cold and bright like yesterday.   Light northerly wind.   Appx 5C.

(Summary blog only.   Last full blog was Day 0368).

Still in hospital today, but feeling a lot better than yesterday.   Managed to get on crutches (which gives you much more mobility than the Zimmer frame) and actually had a shower too.   Felt a lot better for that.

The physiotherapists came and gave me a long list of exercises to do, and also got me going up and down stairs on my crutches.   Then in the afternoon I had two visitors – friends I hadn’t seen for a long time – and Val drove down as well.   So it felt like a really busy day.

Last night I managed to find a James Bond film to watch on an obscure digital TV channel, so I’m going to sign off now and see if there is anything equally interesting to look at.   At least it lulled me off to sleep!

Val has made me some jelly for when I go home.   My favourite.   What a star!
First tentative steps on crutches today.   I’m wearing a Dublin Walking Club sweatshirt – but I’m not really sure if having it modelled on someone hobbling around on crutches is actually very good publicity for them
